For companies arriving from abroad

Opening an office in Albania: the part nobody covers

Incorporation, tax, accounting and employment already have their consultants. The day you actually have to walk into an office, there is usually nobody.

In short

Quadiware handles the technical fit-out of offices in Albania for companies arriving from abroad: hardware supply, network and Wi-Fi, VPN back to the home office, backup and technical data protection measures, from an operating base in Tirana.

The route into Albania is well trodden by now. The usual company form is the Sh.p.k., the equivalent of a limited company, registration runs through the National Business Centre and the e-Albania portal, and in practice it closes in a few working days. Around that sits a solid ecosystem of firms and consultants who handle incorporation, tax filings, accounting and employment contracts.

Then comes the moment when the company exists, the lease is signed and the actual office has to open. That is where the path stops, because none of those consultants buys the computers, runs the cabling, configures company mail, sets up backups or deals with the technical measures data protection law requires. That is exactly where we start.

What a new office actually needs

The common mistake is treating an office as a shopping list. Desks and computers are the easy, visible part. What decides whether the first month runs smoothly is the invisible part: whether the building's internet line holds the headcount, whether Wi-Fi reaches the far room, whether company accounts exist before people arrive, whether anyone decided where files live and who can read them.

A ten-person office that opens without those steps still works, for a few weeks. Then someone is working on files saved to the desktop, someone else uses a personal account to share documents, the Wi-Fi password circulates in a chat group, and the problem has hardened into habit. Fixing it later costs more than doing it properly at the start.

How we work with companies not yet on the ground

Most of the people we talk to at this stage are still abroad. The method is built for that.

  1. 01

First call, before there is even a site

How many people, what roles, what software, when the opening is planned. It also tells you whether the space you are considering meets the basic technical requirements.

  2. 02

    Site visit on your behalf

We go and look at the property: available connectivity, electrical and network provisions, coverage, weak points. You get a report with photos before signing the lease, if there is still time.

  3. 03

    One design, one quote

A single document covering hardware, network, backup and services, with the buy-versus-rent comparison and delivery dates tied to opening day.

  4. 04

    Fit-out before arrival

Delivery, cabling, workstation configuration, accounts, printers, VPN to the home office and backup running. The goal is that day one is spent working, not assembling.

  5. 05

    Ongoing support from Tirana

After opening we stay the local technical reference, which matters when ownership is a thousand kilometres away.

The questions we always ask

If you already have the answers, the quote comes back much faster.

  • How many workstations on day one, and in a year

It changes network sizing and the buy-versus-rent decision. Over-sizing costs; under-sizing costs more.

  • Is the team only in Tirana or split with abroad

With two sites, the link between them and access management become the core of the project.

  • Where the data lives today

Cloud services, servers abroad, local archives. It determines what gets replicated, what gets moved and what stays put.

  • What kind of data you will handle

Employee data, EU client data, sensitive categories. It changes the level of technical measures required, and it is decided before, not after.

  • Who the local reference will be

Even just one person who knows where the credentials are and who to call. If there is nobody, we cover that role.

An honest warning

Anyone promising the office is ready in three days is talking about the order, not the delivery. Between hardware availability, connections and configuration, a serious fit-out is planned some weeks ahead. The useful thing we can do is give you the realistic date up front and hold to it.

Frequently asked questions

No, and we do not pretend otherwise. Incorporation, tax, accounting and employment contracts belong to specialised firms, and we are glad to work alongside them. We cover the technical side of the office.
